University of Arkansas Physics Department Centennial (flash)

During the first week of April 2008 the Physics Department at the University of Arkansas had a Centennial celebration. I was fortunate enough to attend. I had a good time through it all; from the talk by Wolfgang Ketterle to the banquet to the final ceremony. The public portions of the event made possible the more private times: visiting with my two advisors (Perry and Julio) and their families, catching up with office mates (T.C., Cynthia, and John) and fellow students, and meeting new folks and sharing stories. My thanks to the department for their efforts, and a special thanks to Reeta Vyas and Surendra Singh for opening their home to the quantum optics crew.
